Privacy Policy

Amora ("we", "us", "our") is a values-first dating application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use Amora on Android or iOS.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide when creating an account:
- Profile data — name, date of birth, gender, city, bio, photos, interests, relationship goals, religion, and other profile details.
- Account credentials — email address and encrypted password.
- Messages — content of conversations with your matches, stored securely in Firebase Firestore.
- Usage data — swipe activity, match history, in-app purchases, and feature usage.
- Device information — device type, OS version, push notification token, and IP address.
- Location (city only) — we collect your city to show nearby matches. We never store your precise GPS coordinates.
- Camera & microphone — used only when you record a voice note or take a profile photo, with your explicit permission. Media is stored securely and never shared without your consent.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To suggest compatible matches based on your profile and preferences.
- To deliver in-app messages, matches, and notifications.
- To send push notifications about new matches and messages.
- To process in-app subscription payments.
- To provide safety features (flag, block, report, ghosting detection).
- To improve the app using anonymised analytics.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, push notifications, and cloud storage.
- Cloudflare — media storage (photos, voice notes) and AI features.
- Apple / Google — push notification delivery via APNs / FCM.
- Payment processors — for in-app subscription billing (App Store / Google Play).
- Law enforcement — only when required by applicable law.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Your profile and messages are permanently removed within 30 days of deletion.
5. Your Rights

6. Children's Privacy
Amora is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we discover a user is under 18, we will immediately delete their account.
7. Security
We use HTTPS, encrypted Firestore security rules, and industry-standard measures to protect your data. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
8. Push Notifications
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) and Apple Push Notification Service (iOS) to send notifications. You can opt out at any time in your device settings or within the Amora app.
9. Third-Party Links
Amora may contain links to third-party services (e.g. Spotify, YouTube). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email. Continued use of Amora after changes constitutes acceptance.
